Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of PersProtect. By creating an account or purchasing a subscription, you agree to them.
The service
PersProtect scans data-broker and people-search sites and known breach databases for your personal information, submits removal requests, and monitors for new exposure. Identity Monitoring plans alert you to what we find; Full Identity Protection plans also submit and track takedowns.
Authorization to act on your behalf
When you tick the consent box at sign-up, you appoint PersProtect and the service providers we use as your authorized agent to send opt-out, deletion, and suppression requests to data brokers for you, including under laws such as the CCPA that let you use an agent. Some brokers require a final step only you can take, and we show you those instructions rather than acting for you.
- To find and remove your record, brokers need to identify you, so you give us accurate details (name, date of birth, city and state) and we pass only what a given broker requires for that request.
- For anyone you add besides yourself, you confirm you are that person or are legally authorized to act for them.
- The authorization lasts while your subscription is active. You can withdraw it at any time by cancelling or contacting us, and we will stop sending new requests. Requests already filed may still complete, because a broker acts on its own schedule once a request reaches it.
No guarantee of complete removal
We work hard to remove your data, but we cannot guarantee 100% removal. Data brokers frequently re-publish information, and some sites are outside our reach. Removal is an ongoing process, not a one-time event, which is why coverage is provided on a subscription basis.
Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled.
- A $4.99 3-day trial converts automatically to the paid plan unless cancelled before it ends; the renewal price and billing interval are shown at checkout.
- You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future renewals. See our Refund Policy for refund eligibility.
Acceptable use
PersProtect is for checking and protecting your own information, or that of people on your plan who have consented. You may not use it to surveil, locate, or investigate other people without authorization. We may suspend accounts that violate this rule.
Disclosures
PersProtect is not a consumer reporting agency, and our reports may not be used for FCRA-covered decisions. See our Legal Disclosures for our FCRA, DPPA, and California privacy notices.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, PersProtect is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
